This page is just a collection of some of the photos from my trip to the 10th Thailand International Kite Festival in March of 2008.

She sells sea salt by the sea shore?

A nice welcome to the hotel in Cha-Am.

Entertainment at the opening banquet dinner before the festival began.

Some of the food presented at the Opening Banquet.

These flowers kind of gave me the creeps.  They looked like jelly fish attacking the plant.

One of the flowers growing outside my hotel room.

I saw several places where orchids were planted in the nooks of trees.  I never got a good photo of them though.

We were followed around by a few camera crews the whole time.  At the closing banquet, we were all given CDs that contained a short movie of festival footage.

The Thai Royal Summer Palace.  This was one of my favorite sight seeing stops.

Duck!

The walkway from the Summer Palace to the beach.

Flowers growing on a tree at the Summer Palace.

Festival Posters.  I saw these in a few locations.

One of the neatest kites at the festival.  This one was made by Gerard Clement from France.  The image of the Mona Lisa is formed by holes cut in the sail.

Flying conditions were a bit rough.  Light winds made it difficult to keep a show in the air.  This is one of the few pictures I managed to get, I was usually in the field trying to get my octopus kite back in the air.

Um... I'm not sure what the sprayer was for, and wasn't about to ask.

Well, how else are you suppose to get a large Buddha statue from one location to another?

This would look really great with my Romex watch.

I would have though this one would have been a bit on the obvious side.

I'm not sure what this building was, but it looked really cool lit up at night.

This was the Thai Royal Navy Headquarters along the Royal River.

This bridge looked pretty neat at night.  It's just a single tower suspension bridge with a cantilever design.  I've never seen one quite like it before.

Um... For some reason, I just don't really believe this one is quite accurate.

On the grounds of the Thai Royal Palace in Bangkok.

Anyone who knows me knows I tend to obsess about food.  I thought the presentation of this one was pretty neat.
